Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 500 g Rösti, frozen, thawed
  • 2 onions
  • 1 bunch of parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tbsp herb butter
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder
  • 300 g mackerel(s), smoked fillets
  • 100 g Emmental cheese, grated
  • 80 g butter and butter for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

with mackerel and rösti

Heat the sunflower oil in a pan and fry the hash browns on all sides. Remove from the pan and keep warm. Peel and dice the onions. Wash, dry, and finely chop the parsley. Peel and press the garlic cloves. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Heat the butter in another pan and sauté the onions and parsley. Add the garlic and season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Grease an ovenproof dish with butter and layer the hash browns in it. Cut the mackerel fillets into pieces and arrange them on top of the hash browns. Spread the onion and herb mixture on top and sprinkle with the cheese. Place the butter in small pieces on top. Bake on the middle rack for about 15 minutes.
