Chia energy bars

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 liter of milk
  • 250 g rice pudding
  • 1 tbsp raw cane sugar or honey
  • 250 g dried fruit
  • 3 tbsp chia seeds
  • Grains for sprinkling

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

First, cook the rice pudding. To do this, heat 1 liter of milk and then add about 250 grams of rice. Once the rice has completely absorbed the milk, you can sweeten it slightly. If you like, you can also add a little cinnamon and cocoa powder. Mix everything well. Then add 250 grams of dried fruit, such as raisins, dried cranberries, or finely chopped dates or prunes, and 3 tablespoons of chia seeds and mix in. Then pour the mixture onto a baking sheet and smooth it out to thumb height. If you like, you can sprinkle more chia seeds or other seeds and grains on top. Bake the mixture at about 150 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes. Once cooled, cut the mixture into the desired size. Wrap the individual bars in aluminum foil and place them in the freezer, removing them one or two hours before eating.
