Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 12 red chili peppers
  • 2 m.-large tomato(s)
  • 1 small onion(s)
  • 1 apple, green
  • 125 ml vinegar (red wine)
  • 100 g sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Halve the chilies lengthwise and remove the seeds. Place cut-side down on a baking sheet and grill until the skin is blackened. Let cool. Make a cross-shaped cut in the base of the tomatoes, place in boiling water for 2 minutes, drain well, and let cool. Peel and finely chop the chilies and tomatoes, as well as the onion. Finely grate the apple, mix it with the onion, vinegar, sugar, and the tomato and chili pieces in a pan. Stir until the sugar has dissolved, bring to a boil, and simmer for 30 minutes. Keeps covered in the refrigerator for up to a month. Use sparingly because of the heat.
