Currant-orange-mirabelle jam

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g currants
  • 3 oranges
  • 250 g mirabelle plums
  • 1 packet of gelling sugar (3:1 or 2:1)
  • 1 shot of orange liqueur
  • 1 dashes lemon juice
  • 1 pinch(s) of vanilla flavor, optional

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

simple, quick and delicious

Puree the prepared fruit (approx. 1 kg in total) with a hand blender in a tall saucepan, add the gelling sugar, and bring to a boil. Cook for 7-8 minutes, stirring to prevent burning. Add the vanilla extract, orange liqueur, and lemon juice, and continue cooking for about 1 minute. Then pour into jam jars and seal immediately. Rinse the jars with cold water beforehand. Makes 4-5 jars, depending on size.
