Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 500 g flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 packet of baking powder
- 2 cups milk
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
- plenty of oil for frying (no margarine!)
- possibly sugar
- Flour for the work surface
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Mix all ingredients well. Sprinkle a little flour on the table to prevent sticking, and knead the dough well. Tip: Don’t let the dough get too stiff, or you’ll end up with hard Detscherde. You want them to be nice and fluffy! Roll the dough into a log and cut into slices (about 2 cm). Heat plenty of oil in a pan and fry the slices until golden brown on both sides. Detscherde tastes best warm and sliced with a little jam on top.
