Eggs in a minced meat nest

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat, half and half
  • 2 onions, diced
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 1 garlic clove(s), finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 4 eggs
  • ½ tsp paprika powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Combine the meat with the next four ingredients, except for the egg and paprika, and knead thoroughly. Form four oval dumplings, make a well in the center, and place a raw egg into each. Sprinkle with paprika, place in a greased baking dish, and bake in the oven at 200 degrees Celsius (400 degrees Fahrenheit) until the egg is set. If desired, you can also brown the meatballs slightly beforehand. Serve with toast, brown bread, and cucumber.
