Grandma Elfriede's whole-wheat waffles

Ingredients for 10 servings:

  • 125 g butter
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 125 g whole wheat flour
  • 125 g oat flakes, coarse
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 300 ml milk
  • 2 tbsp rum, if desired
  • possibly powdered sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

very rich

Mix the ingredients thoroughly with a hand mixer and let them sit for at least half an hour. I’ve also tried it without letting them sit, but unfortunately, the oatmeal in the finished waffles was still too hard. Bake a scoop of the finished waffle batter in the waffle iron. Then, just sprinkle them with powdered sugar.
