Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g quark
  • 30 g butter or margarine
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp caraway seeds, whole

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Strain the dry quark through a sieve and let it stand, covered, in a warm place (at 20-25 degrees Celsius), stirring daily, until it reaches a creamy yellow color. Then melt the fat. Add the quark and salt and caraway seeds to taste, and stir the mixture over low heat (the temperature of the quark should not exceed 70-80 degrees Celsius!) until it is liquid and clear. Pour the cheese into small porcelain bowls and store in a cool place.
