Hot eggnog cocktail with real bourbon vanilla

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 1 liter of milk
  • ½ liter cream
  • 100 ml brandy
  • 100 ml Grand Marnier or Cointreau
  • 1 vanilla pod(s)
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 150 g brown sugar
  • 1 tsp orange peel, grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Slowly bring the milk, cream, vanilla pod (scraped seeds plus the pod itself), and orange zest to a boil. Beat the egg yolks with sugar until frothy. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the egg yolk mixture. Add the orange liqueur and brandy. Do not boil. Serve hot.
