Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 1 medium-sized onion(s), finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove(s), finely chopped
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 180 ml apple juice
- 5 tbsp tomato paste
- 60 ml apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp beet syrup
- 1 tbsp paprika powder
- 1 tbsp horseradish, grated
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes
In a saucepan, sauté the onion and garlic over medium heat until translucent, then sauté the tomato paste for a bit. Then add the apple juice, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, beet syrup, paprika, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer gently uncovered for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Enjoy with poultry, pork, or beef, or brush over grilled meat during the last 10 minutes of cooking.
