Kasseler Apple Casserole

The perfect kasseler apple casserole recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

Casserole

  • 450 g Waxy potatoes
  • 2 Rods Leek
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 300 g Kassel chop triggered

sauce

  • 150 ml Milk or cream
  • 3 Eggs
  • 2 teaspoon Vegetable broth powder

further ingredients

  • 2 Apples
  • 50 g Walnut kernels
  • 30 g Breadcrumbs
  • 30 g Butter

Casserole

  1. Peel the potatoes into slices, wash the leek and cut into rings. Peel the kasseler into cubes, core the apples and cut into wedges.
  2. Boil the potatoes in boiling salted water for 6 minutes and after 3 minutes add the leek – drain over a sieve

sauce

  1. Mix the milk with the eggs, vegetable stock powder and pepper

Covering

  1. Chop the nuts and toast them with the breadcrumbs and butter

Complete

  1. Grease a baking dish, add the potatoes, leek, smoked pork and apples, mix and pour the sauce on top.
  2. Finally spread the nut mixture over it and put it in the 200c. warm oven for about 40 minutes.
  3. Take the casserole out of the oven, let it rest a little and then arrange it on a plate and enjoy .— Bon appetit; 🙂
