Oat Bran Chocolate Muffins

The perfect oat bran chocolate muffins recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 175 g Flour
  • 25 g Cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 140 g Oat bran
  • 110 g Brown or muscovado sugar
  • 2 tsp Baking soda
  • 0,5 tsp Salt
  • 2 piece Eggs
  • 240 g Applesauce
  • 4 tbsp Sunflower oil
  • 2 Handful Choco Krispies from Kellogs
  1. Mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, oat bran, sugar, baking soda and salt in a bowl. Add eggs, applesauce and oil. Mix everything together with a whisk until the ingredients are mixed together. Finally fold in the Choco Krispies.
  1. Spread the batter into the wells of a prepared muffin tin. Let rest for about 10 minutes. In the meantime, preheat the oven to 200 degrees (or convection 175 degrees). Bake the muffins on the middle rack for about 15 minutes until they have risen. Let cool down briefly in the tin, then place on a wire rack and let cool down completely.
  1. The Choco Krispies can also be omitted without replacement. If you like, you can also coat the muffins with a chocolate icing.
