Oven-baked bananas

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 bananas, not too ripe
  • 4 tbsp orange liqueur
  • lemon juice
  • 4 tsp sugar
  • 100 g walnuts
  • 4 scoops of ice cream (vanilla ice cream)
  • 4 tbsp syrup (caramel, beet or maple syrup)

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Peel a strip of banana skin lengthwise, leaving the remaining peel on. Drizzle the flesh with liqueur and lemon juice. Sprinkle half a teaspoon of sugar over the bananas, then wrap them in aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (fan 170°C, gas mark 3) for 10-15 minutes. Open the aluminum foil and let the bananas cool slightly. Caramelize the roughly chopped walnuts with two teaspoons of sugar in a grease-free pan. Remove the bananas from the foil and place them on a plate. Loosen the skins slightly and place a scoop of ice cream on top. Drizzle with syrup and sprinkle the walnuts over the top.
