Quark Spaetzle with Sugar Crumbs

The perfect quark spaetzle with sugar crumbs recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 250 g Quark
  • 300 g Flour handy
  • 4 Eggs
  • 100 ml Milk lukewarm
  • Sugar Crumbs:
  • 100 g Butter
  • 180 g Breadcrumbs
  • 60 g Sugar
  1. For quark spaetzle, mix the quark, flour, eggs and lukewarm milk into a dough. The dough should now rest for 10 minutes and then stirred again. Bring the water to the boil in a saucepan and use a spatula to press the dough through the spaetzle grater into the boiling water. Bring to the boil and strain the finished pot spaetzle. For the sugar crumbs, melt the butter, then stir in the breadcrumbs and sugar and let them roast a little. Mix in the finished pot spaetzle. Serve with compote.
