Sea buckthorn juice

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 kg sea buckthorn berries, fresh
  • ½ liter of water
  • 1 ½ kg sugar
  • 1 vanilla pod(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 2 hours 30 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 30 minutes

Basic recipe of the mother juice various variants

The berries are picked, cleaned, and then placed in a pot, lightly covered with water, and the sugar is added. The vanilla pod is then added to the mixture, and just before it boils, the mixture is removed from the heat to prevent the vitamins from being destroyed too much. This is the juice when boiled. Sea buckthorn juice can also be made cold-pressed by picking and cleaning the berries, then pressing the whole thing through a sieve to collect the mother juice. This is not cooked, and can be stored for a limited time in the refrigerator for immediate use or further processing. This is the healthiest method and retains all of the nutrients. Keep in mind that with cold-pressed juice, the oil floats on top, as sea buckthorn is an oil plant! If you want to lose weight, you can consume it in any form!
