Tropical Fruit Salad

The perfect tropical fruit salad recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 Granny Smith apples
  • 1 Pears fresh
  • 1 Blood oranges
  • 1 Carambola
  • 1 Can Unsweetened peaches
  • 1 Can Diced pineapple
  • 1 Can Papaya
  • 1 Can Lychees
  • 1 Fresh mango
  • 1 Bananas
  • 200 g Red grapes
  • 250 ml Passion fruit juice
  • 200 ml Sparkling wine
  • 3 tbsp Rum
  • 1 Vanilla pod
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • Grated lemon peel
  • Grated orange peel
  1. Marinade: Mix passion fruit juice, sparkling wine and rum. Scrape out the vanilla pod and add. Add 1 tbsp honey and the grated zest of half a lemon and a whole orange. Now peel the fruit and cut into small pieces (dice, strip as you like). Drain the canned fruit in a colander (and add a little of the juice to the marinade – saves the sugar). Mix everything together and season to taste (add a little lemon juice if it’s too sweet). Finally, decorate with the cut carambola (star fruit). I like to serve it on New Year’s Eve, because the sparkling wine makes it reminiscent of a fruit punch, but it also works great as a dessert and is very popular with my family and friends!
