Walnut – Vanilla – Liqueur

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g walnuts, fresh, untreated, without shell
  • 2 vanilla pods
  • 3 tonka beans
  • 1 jar honey
  • 1 bottle of vodka, fruit brandy or grain alcohol

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

from ripe walnuts

Place the freshly cracked walnuts, tonka beans, split vanilla pods, and honey in a sealable fermentation container. Pour in the alcohol and let it mature in a warm place for 4-6 weeks, stirring frequently. After this time, filter the fermentation (the nuts are delicious as a cake filling, so don’t throw it away!) and let the liqueur mature for another 12 weeks in the dark. Stop stirring now so that the suspended particles and fat from the nuts can settle. Then filter again.
