Sausage goulash 2.0 with noodles

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500g fusilli
  • 5 shallots
  • 100 g tomato paste
  • 75 g diced ham
  • 150 g processed cheese (Gouda processed cheese)
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 shot of red wine, dry
  • 200 ml vegetable stock
  • 300 ml milk
  • chili flakes
  • pepper
  • cumin
  • ½ bunch chives, fresh
  • 6 Vienna sausages
  • some oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Cook the pasta in salted water according to the package instructions until al dente. Slice the sausages and fry them with a little oil over medium heat. In the meantime, finely chop the shallots or, if desired, onions. When the sausages are lightly browned, add the shallots and ham cubes and fry for 2-3 minutes. Stir in the tomato paste and fry briefly. Add the stock and stir. Then stir in the milk and let simmer briefly. Add the cream cheese. Add the red wine and seasonings, if desired, and season to taste. Allow the sauce to reduce slightly. Stir in the finely chopped chives. Remove the bay leaves from the sauce. Drain the cooked pasta and serve with the sausage goulash.
